2nd annual K&C week. Day Three: 30th March. Tidy mind, tidy stitches.

Today subject is "How do you keep your yarn wrangling organised?"
Ok, yarn is everywhere in my tiny house. I just snapped some pictures. Here:
This and next one in my coffee table.

I pulled out this one from my tiny storage room.

Here we go, next to tennis balls.

Some in my bedroom closet.

My dream is to have a special room just for my crafting.

Crochet black top.

This one was suppose to become a dress or at least a tunic (yesss, again), but since I've got sore (better say wounded) finger from 1 mm hook, it's just a top, though during this winter I started to add some motives, but it's still in process.

2nd annual knitting&crochet week. Day Two: 29th March. Skill + 1UP

This winter I fell in love with Irish crochet. Never did it before. Motives are not something new for me, all the same old crochet, but to make irregular net takes some practice.
My very first project:
It suppose to be a pareo. My mistake is that leaves are hanging in the air. I also would like to make a fringe, but to lazy and all I've seen in stores doesn't match and look cheap. :( Guess, I have to do it eventually.

My second project is this scarf:
There is no net in between motives, I just attached them to each other. I might add a lining to this scarf, because motives are stretching, but it looks amazing anyways.

My third project:
This is a tunic. Swear to take a picture on me. Can't wait for summer to wear it. My net is becoming better.

You can find some posts about Irish crochet on my blog.

I noticed that I like projects with not too many motives and in one color, though small projects like a scarf or a hat might be colorful. Sometimes Irish crochet pieces look like a flower bed and tasteless.
See you tomorrow!

Top on circular needles.

Here is my favorite top from last summer. I used circular needles to make front part.
Thread used.
Kind of have in mind to make something like this again with different collar.

This collar seems too loose or too high.

2nd Annual knitting & crochet week. Day One: 28th March. A Tale of Two Yarns.

Hi everybody!
I am so exited to take a part in this knitting&crochet week!
This classic crochet thread from Royale in beige, size 10 is my favorite! It's strong, it doesn't become a cotton wool after a few ripping off. Another plus is that I buy it in Joanne with 40% off, since they give you this opportunity almost every other week.
Another thing: I love those giant skeins and hate this marketing trick when you buy big skeins with air inside! We are not idiots. The natural color of this thread is classic and look chick!
I made quite a few projects using this kind. In all of them I used 2 threads and hooks 2 and 3 mm.
Recently I decided to try white thread. There is no ready projects yet but they are coming with summer. :))

 See you tomorrow!

First spring hike.

Though it wasn't very worm, we've decided to do that and didn't regret! It was nice!
I had to frighten my son by staying hungry all day in case he wouldn't join. Sometimes moms have to be tough! He would love to spend all day with his Play station.
What a beautiful house near the lake. You can see swans in the distance.
